So long and thanks for all the fish

Turns out Poker and School aren't co-existing so well. So I pulled my roll. There will be 3 busto-robusto attempts corresponding with rakeback deposits (and the 30$ that's left in my account after forfeiting prop bets). If any of them go particularly well, I'll post some stories here.

Thanks to my loyal readers. I'll be back in the summer.

Good luck on the tables.

- Crush

Edit: First busto-robusto over after 2 hands. Shove ATo in the SB for 30bb over an OTB raise, he calls w 88 eventually and flops an 8. Moral of the story: Don't busto-robusto when you're running like ass.

Breaking even is gay

That's the story of my last two months.

And this happening for the 3rd time in a row isn't helping.

Meh

Fun hand against a guy who I caught bluffing the river several times. So few 8's in his range here...

Yes, he hit running gutshot straight cards without a fucking spade hitting. I can't even begin to pretend to understand why he called on the flop...

That is all.

Grunt.

It was inevitable

Doom switch activated:

The move to 100NL did not go well. Every time I won a stack, I'd quickly lose two, either shipping KK into AA or running AQ into 78s in a 3bet pot when fish calls flop, turn with his OESD+8 high flushdraw vs my TPTK and gets there on the river. Lots of crap like that.

So after going up 200$ and then down 700$, I dropped back to 50NL (which had a 4 buyin slide this graph doesn't capture), and had more of the same. My favorite thing to do now (apparently) is run made flushes into two pair which always boats up on the turn if we get it in on the flop, and on the river if we get it in on the turn.

Fun times.

So I'll be taking a couple days off for tilt management, after which I'll have to decide if I'll keep playing 50NL on a 15bi roll, or move to 25NL to make this variance a little more absorbable.

That is all.

Stacking donks like it's nobody's business

Today was a good day (starts around hand 6500).

Went on a 6.5 buyin tear thanks mostly to hands like this.

There we just soooo many donks running around the tables, and of the 9-10 uberdonkeys I ran into tonight, I remember stacking at least 7 of them. Didn't get sucked out on once as you can tell from the almost-unbreaking vertical jump, but most of the time I was getting it in as a prohibitive favorite.

Tonight leaves me appropriately rolled for 50NL ($1,125). I'll probably start shooting at 100NL when I crest 1500$. Maybe sooner. My bankroll management has been somewhat lax because of how comfortable/confident I am playing at these stakes.

Rollin' on!

Since school doesn't start for a week...

I've actually been putting in some volume the last couple days.

I tell ya, after grinding 100NL for that long, playing 25NL is pretty much taking candy from babies. The only thing I've struggled with is it's tough not to spew since a lot of air lines at 25NL look similar to monster lines - and I love to snap bluffs.

I did something tonight I hadn't done yet this month ... I sucked out!

Pretty rigged hand. I just happened to decide to run goot.

Here's the month:

Probably be some more volume before I start school on the 12th. I'll make a decision about getting a 100NL stake around the end of the month. In the meantime, I'll keep donking it up in the micros.

Soon to be 4200 USD richer

I made the withdrawal today. $4200 and change which translates to ~5100$ CDN. (Left myself 600$ to play with.) Pretty happy about that. Obviously it would have been nicer to have made a bigger pull before my 200NL disaster when my roll was flirting with 6k, but hey, I'll take it.

With school starting in 10 days, I'm really not planning to play a lot. Instead of playing 4-5 days a week for 3-4 hours, I'll be playing more like 1-3 hours once or twice a week.

I'll still be updating the blog. The content will be back to cheeseburger stakes though. Although... I am considering getting a stake through one of the CP Forum members that would get me close to being able to play 100NL, albeit slightly underrolled... We'll see how the next few weeks go.

That's all for this update! Haven't really played much since the last post.

Happy New Year! Hopefully Christmas was good to all of you.
