Quick lil session

400 hands, +220$

Month now looks like this (for cash):

Might break 10k hands this month.. We'll see. Today's hands were pretty standard. No fantastic HH to show. Most "interesting" hand was me 3betting an OTB open with JJ in the small blind, the BB cold-4bet shipped for his whole stack .. I took a few seconds to think about it - his 3bet% was high, he'd been very active, I'd already caught him squeezing once, so he couldn't be THAT strong. I called and out-raced his AKo.

Roll at $3,672.06. Almost half way!

Final tabled a 75$ tourny

I'm tired. Cranky. But marginally happy with this.

Roll is $3461.41

Perhaps recap later. It was pretty boring. Yay short stacking.

Fuck Queens

Everyone in the family is busy today so I just played 3 tournaments and a tiny bit of cash.

34K guarentee: Very first hand blind vs blind I raise QQ, he calls, flop J25 rainbow. I bet, he calls. 5d on turn (puts two diamonds on board), I bet, he calls. Rag river and I bet again, he minraises and I ship into his 22.

10$ KO: After first break UTG (new to table) raises, a fish in UTG+1 ships 24bb, I ship 30bb over the top with QQ, both players snap (UTG has KK, UTG+1 has AK) and I don't spike a Q.

Cash: New player to the table OTB 3bets an CO raise, I cold 4bet QQ, OTB ships AA and I snap. Sigh.

Basically nothing went my way.

Down about 270$ today. Not sure if I'm going to play more. Probably going to play a couple more tournaments before the day is out.

Going to B.C. for 9 days

I probably won't play a lot over that span - if at all. So don't expect updates until I get back on the 28th. See ya soon!

Fast and Furious!

It was looking like it was going to be a so-so session as I was starting to leave my tables, but then the poker gods smiled upon me.

My favorite hand of the day requires a prelude. I had one reg on 3 of my tables and we build up history faster than most. He was very aggressive preflop, and very positionally aware, but I was getting the better of him almost every time we got involved. Early on he 3bet me a lot, and I folded a few times. Then I started 4betting light. Then he tries to 4bet me.

And I can smell the tilt building up, and not 3 hands later...

And just because of the history leading up to it, that is my favorite hand of the night.

I also flopped quads and got paid by a 40bb stack, a close runner up.

There were so many fun hands tonight, I don't think I'll talk about any others. I'm mad at myself for one hand where I 4bet TT against an opponent who 3bet me OTB before I realized that over a decent sample his 3bet was very, very low. I had to call his shove and lost to his QQ. And took notes.

I'm also pretty sure I missed a value bet spot. Maybe two. I've posted some hands on CardPlayer for critique.

Generally I'm very happy with how I played tonight. I was constantly aggressive, and it shows by my non-showdown winnings. I haven't been running many bluffs yet this summer and I tried a couple, mostly successful.

Now I have to try and go to sleep despite the loads of adrenaline pumping through me right now.

Rough session with a happy ending

Tonight was a fun one... Rollercoaster all the way. Early on I was racking the cards, flopping sets, getting paid here and there. Then the wheels came off a bit.

Ran AJ into 55 on A54J two sooted 150bb deep
Ran KQ into 99 on KQ9xx 250bb deep (somehow managed to only lose 100bb)
Shipped AK into AA vs a guy running 36/29 over a decent sample

Fun stuff.

This one was by far the most sick though...

It's not so much that he back-door flushed my flopped nuts, its the fact that he had ~normal stats and somehow he shows up with this hand after preflop/flop where there's no way he should be calling in either - in my opinion. Whatever.

My saving grace that somehow made me profitable today:

- 66 > AK value owning a fish on J6AQ5
- A3cc floats and hits a backdoor flush and I get a reg to spaz on the river (he check/raised 80% of his stack and folded when I shoved)
- 88 flops a set (84K) and gets a limp/caller with K8 to stack off on the turn
- AQ vs QT on QJ3Q vs a reg that called my squeeze in position preflop. A river for good measure.
- 99 flops a set vs a bad player's AA and he stacks off easily

Those are most of the big pots. This one was fun too. Sick turn for this guy.

Yesterday Afternoon

I played again, and it went well:

It was a pretty standard session, not a lot of interesting spots. Here's a shameless brag for how I value-raped a couple of calling stations.
